2 0 1 6 //
new numbers, a new year, and new priorities
Aren’t goals fun? Last year I challenged myself to some very specific music goals and learned just how helpful it is to write goals down. Without a comprehensive list to look at throughout the year, I know I would’ve ended up loosing track of something.
So, I’m doing it again. :)
Last year’s goals went well, but as a mommy of a 20 month-old and an 8-month-old now, my 2 0 1 6 list is going to look a bit different. //cheeese// This year I’m going for a smaller number of deeper goals… like getting a good grip on Music History (middle ages to impressionism), creating a number of music products, and writing several vocal and instrumental arrangements in a variety of music genres.
Here’s what this year’s list looks like:
// Give Two Concerts – the first in June, the second in December.
// Write 8 new arrangements for violin, piano, voice or string ensemble.
// Add 5 new products to my store (that means more secret projects… yip, yip! ;)
// Learn or re-learn 1 new piece / month on violin or piano – 12 total.
// Maintain select pieces from my 2014 & 2015 Repertoire Challenges.
// Maintain all natural minor scales, arpeggios, inversions, and cadences on piano.
// Perform vocally at Remembering WWII. (September 24th… Join us!)
// Add 5 new vocal pieces to my 1940s wartime repertoire.
// Memorize lyrics from 12 hymns.
// Study Music History in greater depth (composers, periods, instrumental development).
// Add 12 new resources to my music library.
What are some of your goals for 2016?
Happy New Year, friends – have fun & work hard! <3
